Sauerbraten

1 ½ lbs. round steak ( ½ inch thick)

3 T. shortening

3 T. flour

3 c. water (or more as needed)

2 beef bouillion cubes

1 ½ T. dry minced onion

2 T. brown sugar

2 T. vinegar

½ t. salt

½ t. ginger

1 t. Worcestershire

Cube meat and brown in shortening until done. Add flour to meat and stir. Add water and bring mixture to a boil. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 ½ hrs.
