Jalapeno Corn Bread (Louise Tatum)

½ c. flour ½ c. onion, chopped
1 c. yellow cornmeal 2 medium eggs
2/3 c. buttermilk 1 c. cheese, grated
½ t. salt 1-4oz. can green chilies, chopped
½ t. soda 1 T. finely chopped jalapeno peppers
1 c. cream style corn 1/3 c. vegetable oil
Combine all ingredients and pour into a 9 inch square baking pan. Bake in a 375° oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
