Glady's Chocolate Pie (Mary Jo Tolbert)
I got this recipe from a cook in Bryan, Texas when I was working in a kindergarten in 1954. John was about 18 months old and George was at A&M. It was the best chocolate pie I had ever eaten. Mary Jo Tolbert
In a large bowl mix together:
½ cup flour
1 cup sugar
½ tsp salt
4 T. cocoa
Then add:
3 egg yolks and 1 egg white
2 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla
Vanilla Base:
½ cup flour
¾ cup sugar
½ tsp salt
Coconut optional
Mix well, cook on medium heat until thickens and then pour into uncooked pie shells. Cook at 350° until set.
