Hot Stuffed Jalepenos (Kay Hillje)

5 medium jalapenos,washed 5 slices turkey bacon
10 small ½ oz cubes of Monterey Jack cheese
10 toothpicks
Preheat oven to 375°. Cut the jalapenos in half and de-seed. Cut the turkey bacon slices in half. Place the cheese cubes inside the jalapeno halves and wrap half a slice of turkey bacon around the jalapeno and cheese, securing the ends with the toothpicks. Place cheese side up on a cookie sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and the bacon is hot. Serve warm. Makes 20.
Note: You can use other types of cheeses as long as they are not too soft. Soaking toothpicks in water for 15 minutes or longer helps them not to burn as much.
